On Saturday February 13, 2016 Arlington high school hosted day one of the Sectionals tournament. Kevin Knox qualified for day two at the 132lb weight, Ahken Chu qualified at the 138lb weight and Alex Leoni qualified at the 160lb weight. All three then went on to day two of the Tournament which was held at the Clarkstown South high school. Kevin Knox took first place, while Ahken Chu took third which was a great improvement form last years sectionals where Ahken placed sixth, and Alex Leoni placed fifth in the 160lb weight class.

Carmel Divisionals 2/06/16

On Saturday February 6, 2016 Carmel hosted a divisional tournament. Schools that participated were Tappan Zee, East Ramapo. Mt. Vernon, White Plains, Brewster, and Mahopac. Carmel did very well at the tournament with Kevin Knox placing first in the 132lb weight class, Ahken Chu placing first in teh 138lb weight class, Greg Purdy placing second in the 145lb weight class, Matt Purdy placing third in the 152lb weight class and Nick Ferrara placing fourth in the 106lb weight clas and Scott Dzibela placed fourth in the 170lb weight class. Kevin Knox was also awarded the Most Outstanding wrestler in the tournament. It was a great day for the Carmel wrestlers.

Mahopac meet 1/28/16

On Thursday January 28, 2016 Carmel hosted Mahopac. It was also Carmel’s senior night. It was a tough battle and when it was thought that the meet ended in a tie the referee penalized Mahopac for not listening to him and it cost them a point and Carmel ended up winning the meet. This is the first time in 15 years that the Rams have been able to defeat the Indians two years in a row.

JV Divisionals 1/30/16

On Saturday January 30, 2016 Carmel JV wrestlers went down to John Jay Cross River and competed in their annual JV Divisional tournament. This has always been a hard tournament, but this year Carmel came out strong and placed fourth. The JV members that placed at divisionals are: Ben Rivera first place, Keegan Monohan and Ransford Wisdom both placed second, Stephen Irwin placed fourth, Eduardo Monroy and Ricardo Cordova both placed fifthe and Jake Barrantes and Ryan Duffelmeyer both placed sixth. The JV team did great. Even though we are losing eight seniors to graduation this year we have plenty of JV wrestlers that will move up to replace them.
